Karen A. Walters, D.D.S., M.B.A- General Dentist

  Dr. Walters is a native Texan who grew up in Pasadena.  She attended San Jacinto Jr.   College prior to graduating from the University of Texas School of Dental Hygiene in 1972. She soon realized how much she loved dentistry and went on to complete the requirements necessary for dental school at the University of Houston.  Dr. Walters received  her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1978 from the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston. The following year she completed a one-year general practice residency at Houston's Veterans Administration Hospital. 

Dr. Walters is active in the dental community and has held many positions at the local (GHDS), state (TDA), and national (ADA) level. She has served as a Director, Vice-President, Secretary/Treasurer and President of the Greater Houston Dental Society and is currently on the Star Council. She is a past  Vice-President of the SE Division on the TDA Board of Directors, and UT School of Dentistry Alumini Past President.  Currently she is a delegate to both the TDA and ADA House of Delegates.

She was selected to be a fellow in the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists both of which have a selective membership limited to 2-3% of dentists worldwide.

Dr. Walters has chaired several committees for The Star of The South Dental Meeting in Houston which provides quality continuing education relating to dentistry and received the Dr. Burton Kunik Award for outstanding volunteer and the Jack H. Harris Recognition Award.  She and her team are committed to dentistry and stay current with topics related to patient care by exceeding the continuing education requirements mandated by the state.

Dr. Walters and her husband of 26 years, Randy, have raised their four children: Ryan, Scott, Ashley, and Heather.  The couple is extremely proud that three of their children and one daughter in-law have all chosen careers in the healthcare field.  They're especially excited that Ashley has followed in her mother's footsteps and has graduated from The Univeristy of Texas Dental School, has completed a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY and joined the staff here at Cambridge Dental, Inc.  

Dr. Walters has enjoyed and appreciated serving the dental needs of her patients, whom she considers friends and family for over 35 years.  She credits her success to the loyalty and continued referrals from her patients.  She knows patients have a choice when choosing a dentist and she appreciates when she is chosen.  She will always do everything possible to merit the confidence her patients have shown in her.

    Benjamin R. Mason, D.M.D.-Associate Dentist  

Dr. Mason grew up the middle of three sons in The Woodlands, Texas. After obtaining a Bachelor Degree in Biology from the University of Texas, he followed in the footsteps of his older brother and went on to pursue his dental education at The University of Louisville School of Dentistry. There, he developed a passion for treating the underserved and alleviating patient's anxiety. He returned to Houston and elected to complete an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency where he focused on treatment of complex dental cases and patients with advance medical conditions.  Dr. Mason has experience in many different facets of dentistry ranging from cosmetic cases to replacing multiple missing teeth. Dr. Mason is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, The Greater Houston Society, The Academy of General Dentistry and the Spear Education Study Club. 

Dr. Mason strives to provide compassionate and ethical care. He enjoys getting to know his patients so that he can provide them quality treatment that meets and exceeds their demands.

Outside of Dentistry Dr. Mason enjoys spending time with his  beautiful fiance Jessica,  playing with his niece and nephew, experiencing Houston's dining scene or cooking for guests, and attending live music events. He also enjoys following sports. Of course as an alum, Dr. Mason follows his Longhorns.

Dr. Mason  provides every patient with the best possible dental care for their immediate needs and would  like to introduce them to any cosmetic procedures that can improve and brighten their smile.

 Ashley E. Marcks, D.D.S.-Associate Dentist   

 Dr. Ashley Marcks was born and raised in Houston, where she attended Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, and then went to Texas A&M University and received a degree in Nutritional Sciences.  After graduating early, she spent the next semester doing research at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

 Dr. Marcks is a 2014 graduate of the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston, where she was active in multiple student organizations and outreach programs.  She was vice president of Alpha Omega and the fundraising chair for Psi Omega.  Dr. Marcks then went on to complete a General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in Bronx, NY.  Dr. Marcks enjoys her professional memberships, which include the American Dental Association, The Texas Dental Association, and the Greater Houston Dental Society.  Dr. Marcks is currently participating in the TexMax Dental Implant Education MaxiCourse.  It is an in-depth review of surgical and restorative protocols for implants.  It covers the spectrum of implant types and systems and the use of multiple types of implant systems.  We are very excited to have D. Marcks bring this new technology to our practice.

When she is not working she enjoys cycling, outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.
